Episode 1: Why our protagonist chose Japanese

こんばんわ, みなーさん! As always I'm here to talk some more about Japanese :D More importantly, why I chose Japanese class! How exciting :0 I didn't really know much about Japan growing up, except that I liked Pokemon and ninjas, both of which were Japanese. Once I hit high school though, a few of my friends forced me to watch anime (it was a scary process :o), and it turned out I loved it! Also, before that incident, I ate a lot of sushi. Like, a lot. Every Friday my family and I would go down to this Japanese restaurant called さくら, which means cherry blossom (I love the cherry blossoms <3) So, all of this combined with my distinct love for Japanese video games like Fire Emblem and Pokemon led me to read into Japan, and one day I got to travel there! That was pretty hype. After the fact, I knew one day I wanted to live in Japan for some time, and that meant learning Japanese, or にほんご、as the cool kids say. As you all know, now I'm taking an actual Japanese class! Well, I hope you all liked my background in Japanese, and perhaps have learned a little about me :) Until next time, ありがとございます！

よこそ！(I'm pretty sure that means welcome in Japanese) My name is Jake Berney (or バーニー) and this is my first post on my wonderful, amazing, fantastic Japanese blog! I can't exactly speak Japanese. . . yet, but I hope by the end of this blog I will be a Japanese master. I have only been to two Japanese classes so far, but I am already beyond excited for the lessons to come! Japanese DOES seem pretty tricky and different than English or Spanish, but I'm prepared to work hard to always be improving my Japanese. I don't have much experience with Japanese, outside of my recent visit to Japan (which was awesome btw), so its all very foreign right now, but I can see myself getting used to this beautiful, intricate language.
